Gees Bend Electric Propulsion System

The first zero-emission passenger ferry propulsion system to operate in the United States of America has shipped!

3 May 2018 – ATS has shipped the electric propulsion system for the first battery only passenger ferry to operate in US waters. In the foreground are the four AC propulsion motors with the port and starboard propulsion cabinets and power distribution cabs crated up in the background. This is the sixth passenger ferry to be powered by ATS propulsion and battery chargers and the first zero-emission ferry in North American.  HMS Ferries  will operate this vessel in Gees Bend AL for ALDOT.
